Heart and heartache, dancing in Times Square. My life’s spinning in the air. Heart and heartache, dancing in Times Square. My life’s spinning in the air. The lonely dandelion lawn left me alone with each dawn. It was all green, still I had to go. I was so low. I came to the city to find my way. Where you turned was who you were. Each street was an arch in the dark. Shadows like lances cut their mark. Heart and heartache, dancing in Times Square. My life’s spinning in the air. Heart and heartache, dancing in Times Square. My life’s spinning in the air. Ev’ryone finds their way in the relentless pounding fray. Hot punch, no lunch, friends for a day. You drain your cup and fill it up, kind of like growing up. This is the secret, take it all in. Strut over your fears and empty years. Listen to the horns and see the sights. Dream big down Broadway’s white lights! Heart and heartache, dancing in Times Square. My life’s spinning in the air. Heart and heartache, dancing in Times Square. My life’s spinning in the air. Now I’ve said I’ve been there, oh, oh, oh. Exactly where this town made me go, oh, oh New York there’s no place for me like you. You’re a pew in the church I came to. To know, to grow, not worry about the rest. I’ve already passed your test. When I go away, I’m not on track. There’s no one like you, you’ve got my back. Two feet on the ground I commit. New York you’ve done your bit, I’m where I fit. Heart and heartache, dancing in Times Square. My life’s spinning in the air. Heart and heartache, dancing in Times Square. My life’s spinning in the air.

The dust is a million years old, just like us, they left their home. In search of their gold, pastures green. Giants gulped the water down, not knowing their renown. They lumbered down their path, until the sky unleashed its wrath. Eternity is a footstep left in the mind, from times we thought we’d never find. But as the earth and the ground kept us there, we found the early air! The crashing force the will that was, froze in time to make a town. Because that’s what nature does, you can’t clamp it down. There’s something godly in the place, na’tral beauty, whoever made it was an ace. But who it was some have their doubt, as the lum’bring giants lie about. Eternity is a footstep left in the mind, from times we thought we’d never find. But as the earth and the ground kept us there, we found the early air! This place is a blast, straight out of the past. Painted with white ash, Hollywood & Vine. Elvis on the second floor, may I say more? A mechanical bull in a ring, a few beers and the boys sing. Juana in the square, fireflies in the air. Loco Coyote, bikers galore. Barbecue and rock, a rim and a park, safaris make their mark, it was arrow through the heart. The swirl of life, all the glitter. Day and night, I’m all atwitter. We move on a trail not much new, we are like them, we are the few. But for now we frolic, and forget the fright. Glen Rose is beautiful in the starlight. Eternity is a footstep left in the mind, from times we thought we’d never find. But as the earth and the ground kept us there, we found the early air! Eternity is a footstep left in the mind, from times we thought we’d never find. But as the earth and the ground kept us there, we found the early air! Eternity is a footstep left in the mind, from times we thought we’d never find. But as the earth and the ground kept us there, we found the early air!

Coming of age on the New York stage, taking the ride to show your best side. Working by day, flying by night, you’re a New York mirage, guiding an entourage. Out of the boroughs the dream flows into Manhattan clubs and shows. You’re right there, first in line. It all seems divine. You show them money. They run for it like honey. It’s just part of your flair, let’s leave it there. You’re the whole scene, the beginning, middle, and end. They clamor at your feet, your life makes them complete. You’re the whole scene, the beginning, middle, and end. They clamor at your feet, your life makes them complete. Everyone believes in you. It’s their need. To touch the golden fleece is their release. After the party, the door shuts hard. Still the city vibes pound, the limo carries you around. There’s more to go. The music never stops, the champagne, the wine, the hops. It all just rocks. Keep it going till the sun rises. No compromises, no compromises, no compromises. You’re the whole scene, the beginning, middle, and end. They clamor at your feet, your life makes them complete. You’re the whole scene, the beginning, middle, and end. They clamor at your feet, your life makes them complete. You’re the energy, you’re the force. They’ll never go away, while your zeal is at play. The city stokes you. You’re not through. The embers fire you on, even so it’s not yet dawn. You’re the whole scene, the beginning, middle, and end. They clamor at your feet, your life makes them complete. You’re the whole scene, the beginning, middle, and end. They clamor at your feet, your life makes them complete. You’re the whole scene, the beginning, middle, and end. They clamor at your feet, your life makes them complete. You’re the whole scene, the beginning, middle, and end. They clamor at your feet, your life makes them complete.

My Aurora 03:59
Waiting for beauty on a deadman’s boat, rocking in the North Atlantic cold and remote. The wind blasts me with pictures of my youth. I stare into the darkness, a moment of truth. I knew that such a time could come. Now I can’t run or find the sun. Waiting for beauty on a deadman’s boat, rocking in the North Atlantic cold and remote. Patience in the dark sea, a lesson for me. Truth glowing, dimly flowing. I’m here to find and to forget, what’s left behind and so maligned. Waiting for beauty on a deadman’s boat, rocking in the North Atlantic cold and remote. So this is how I have come. My future is growing numb. This night I might give up. Then flickering I see a soft floating green. My aurora borealis and the deadman’s souls. My past is past, well beyond the mast. I’m a child of lesser gods given soft lightning rods. I am not born to blaze but to live in other ways. I came here to see a delicate future. It is warmth in the chill. I will live, I will. Waiting for beauty on a deadman’s boat, rocking in the North Atlantic cold and remote. Waiting for beauty on a deadman’s boat, rocking in the North Atlantic cold and remote. Waiting for beauty on a deadman’s boat, rocking in the North Atlantic cold and remote.

New York, Grace under stress. Burning in our history, burning in our hearts. New York, Grace under stress. Burning in our history, burning in our hearts. Crisp fall air, ev’ryone racing ev’rywhere. Minds at the usual busy pace, no idea what was to take place. The roads were full of yellow taxis, glistening in the light. Not knowing that in an instant, they’d be out of sight. New York, Grace under stress. Burning in our history, burning in our hearts. New York, Grace under stress. Burning in our history, burning in our hearts. In New York busy is an ordinary day. But this one was going to be all foul play. Two planes, two giant crashes, outside the windows it was raining ashes. All TVs flashed the nightmare, some people ran, some froze, some stared. New York, Grace under stress. Burning in our history, burning in our hearts. New York, Grace under stress. Burning in our history, burning in our hearts. Mobs on the ground, screaming sounds, the towers were aflame. We all knew our lives would never be the same. This fall day was hell, in an instant the world became unwell. But this is America, our great land. We pulled together and extended a helping hand. New Yorkers gave with their hearts. Water, a seat, or a sandwich. Come in, rest, eat, you look beat. Some thought it was just a fire. We found places to retire. Each of us wanted to go home, for some it was in a war zone. New York, Grace under stress. Burning in our history, burning in our hearts. New York, Grace under stress. Burning in our history, burning in our hearts. New York is tough and gritty, but even today in the soul of the city, the memories replay that violent day. We chose to stay and we’ll never be chased away. We chose to stay and we’ll never forget this day.

Love in the desert, hope in the sand, under a rusty moon, I’ll see you soon. A text on my phone. Yes, I’m alone. You’re still far away. What a price to pay. Go to Paris? You’re kidding, right? You’re paying the bills? I’ll take it, with all the frills. Love in the desert, hope in the sand, under a rusty moon, I’ll see you soon. Something closer, the Skeleton coast. That’s absolutely the most. But do we have the time to drop everything on a dime? I can already smell the sea. There’s just you and me, walking in the sand, hand in hand. Love in the desert, hope in the sand, under a rusty moon, I’ll see you soon. Your smiling face, our close embrace. This is not a little thing. It’s the gift that makes me sing. Where are you anyway? I see the gravel flying, your foot to the floor, vroom, vroom, vroom. Love in the desert, hope in the sand, under a rusty moon, I’ll see you soon. Be faster than a big cat and don’t get a flat, through desert and dust and the cold of the night. Love and lust are waiting. My body is pulsating. We will lie under a canopy of stars. This night will be ours. Love in the desert, hope in the sand, under a rusty moon, I’ll see you soon. Love in the desert, hope in the sand, under a rusty moon, I’ll see you soon.

about

Places is a musical tribute to all of the many great locations that have inspired me. I started with New York, one of the greatest cities in the world, where millions come to Times Square. It’s where hopes and dream collide with the billboards and concrete. You’ll meet all types here, including larger than life characters. One of our New York songs pays homage to this personality. Another song pays tribute to graver times in New York when it came under stress.

But New York is only one place I’ve enjoyed. In Glen Rose, Texas, I was amazed to contemplate the Paluxy River where dinosaurs once roamed. I found that eternity is a footstep left in mind from times we thought we’d never find.

From there, I traversed musically to Iceland and a boat on the North Sea at midnight looking for the Aurora Borealis and myself. Finally, my music went on a safari to Africa where I found that lovers were everywhere, even in the barest desert.
